Creating Personal Goals

Module 1 - Identifying Your Goals

In order to pull of the FIVE on your AP History exam, you are going to need to make a big mindset shift to start operating as a top-shelf student . . . a student ready to show the colleges and universities that you are ready to succeed when you get there. Some of you may already be a top student at your school or in your class. But, guess what? You can always get better! This is the Olympic Mentality that we want to develop as we progress through the course.

Watch this lesson on goal development, then complete the worksheets in the Drive for the Five Creating An AP Scholar Workbook I’ve attached below. This is not something you need to submit, but it is something that will serve you greatly on this journey toward AP success.

You can download your Drive for the Five Creating An AP Scholar Workbook by clicking here.

One possible action item following this is to carve out for yourself some YOU time. I recommend a 60-minute block every morning that is dedicated entirely you YOU. During this time, you set up your day before you do anything else. This time is focused on your emotional, mental, and physical health and could include:

1) Working on your positive mindset

2) Training your physical body

3) Preparing your mind with study and learning to start your academic day

Do not expect to be successful in this program if you don’t develop this important success habit. Working on yourself may be hard in the beginning, but it will pay dividends for you and your academic success.

To help with your study and to help you develop this habit in the morning, I recommend some light reading during your spare time. Perhaps one of these books might be enlightening . . .
