Great looking Topps ROOKIE CARD with characteristics of a 5-6 grade. However, this card as a small black “Sharpie” mark on the bottom corner, which counts as “color added.”
O.J. Simpson's collegiate career at the University of Southern California (USC) was truly exceptional and helped establish him as one of the greatest running backs in college football history. Simpson won the prestigious Heisman Trophy in 1968, becoming the first USC player to win the Heisman Trophy and only the third running back to receive the honor at that time. In his junior season in 1967, he rushed for 1,543 yards, setting a new NCAA single-season record. He followed that up with another impressive season in 1968, totaling 1,880 rushing yards, which was the second-highest single-season mark at the time. In the 1968 Rose Bowl, Simpson delivered a legendary performance against the Ohio State Buckeyes. He rushed for a Rose Bowl record 171 yards on 28 carries and scored the game's only touchdown, leading USC to a 14-3 victory.
