This is a VERY RARE regional Burger King card that I acquired in Gainesville, Florida while in middle school, and Emmitt Smith was entering his sophomore year in college at the University of Florida.
Only 22 of these cards have been graded by SGC. Only 11 of them have graded higher than this one!
Emmitt Smith was an outstanding college football player during his time at the University of Florida. He played for the Gators from 1987 to 1989. In his freshman year, he immediately made an impact, rushing for 1,341 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was named SEC Freshman of the Year and earned All-SEC honors. He finished his college career with a total of 3,928 rushing yards, setting numerous school records that stood for many years. His standout season came in 1989 when he rushed for 1,599 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was a consensus All-American that year and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. As a result of his play, he is regarded as one of the greatest running backs in the history of the University of Florida.
