He played the majority of his career for the Cubs while earning All-Star honors 3 times. He also was a 20-game winner 7 different times during his career, and his 284 career victories with 3000 strikeouts are the most by a black pitcher in MLB history. As a minority player who paved the way for others in professional baseball, Jenkins became the first Canadian to be inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame in 1991.
